Sometimes we get all misty-eyed reminiscing about the days when video games were challenging; when they didn't hold your hand through twelve hours of tutorials; when you didn't get rewarded regardless of whether you won or you lost. Apparently we're not the only ones, judging by the challenge uncovered in Overkill's Payday: The Heist.

This has been long in the making—Overkill's been dropping hints in official images and forum posts, and some clues were found scattered around the game as well. Check out the video for the full run-through, but here's the gist of it:

Four players must each have completed all the original levels on the highest difficulty. Then, after fulfilling an incredibly specific series of parameters on one level in particular, a secret vault is revealed. This is where the real challenge begins: the vault takes two hours to open. During that time the players must defeat wave after wave of enemy (and yes, highest difficulty). And because that's not enough, there's a puzzle afterward that can only be solved by looking at a fucking rug in a totally different level.

If we were Team Heist and Team Evil, the dedicated players who had solved this, we'd be patting ourselves on the back pretty fucking hard right now. Then we'd go outside to get some air. Maybe go for a run.
