Hurricane Sandy caused major damage to the East Coast last week and has displaced many from their homes. Residents of New Jersey who have been displaced will be able to vote electronically this Tuesday.

Displaced residents and first responders of New Jersey will be considered "overseas voters" so they can vote by either email or fax. These options are usually only available to those serving in the military overseas.

To see if you qualify for this option, email or fax an application to your county clerk here. If approved, you will be required to send an electronic ballot and a "waiver of secrecy form," which means the people who you send your ballot to will be able to see for whom you voted. Act now because applications must be sent by 5pm and if approved the electronic ballot must be received by 8pm.
