If you haven't tuned into Parks and Recreation, then you probably haven't had a genuine laugh in a long time. The NBC sitcom, which follows the daily happenings of Pawnee, Indiana's Parks and Rec department, is ripe with hilarious offbeat characters, from the do-gooder city councilwoman Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) to the ginormous man-child with a heart of gold Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt). However, arguably no character stands out more than the show's resident Debbie Downer, April Ludgate, played to perfection by the reputedly poker-faced Aubrey Plaza. 

Ludgate, an intern turned assistant deputy director, isn't your typical eager college student. Rather, she's an unmerciful stoic who admittedly hates all people yet reserves a soft spot for animals and her husband Andy. Which makes her the ultimate source for hysterical quotables, and, subsequently, every Internet nerd's favorite subject to make memes of.
