Take this with a grain of salt, but Hit Fix is reporting that it is almost a certainty that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play Batman in the upcoming Justice League movie for Warner Brothers. This seems like a logical extension of the end of The Dark Knight Rises, which saw Gordon-Levitt’s character, John Blake, discover the bat cave.

Even more interesting is that the site is also claiming that Gordon-Levitt might be donning the Batman suit for a cameo during next summer’s Man of Steel, which, appropriately enough, is being produced by Christopher Nolan. If this does happen, it’s obviously a response to what Marvel has been doing with the shared universe in its movies, but, hey, we’re not complaining.

There is no doubt that it would be strange to see a Justice League movie starring someone other than Bruce Wayne as Batman, but Gordon-Levitt as John Blake under the mask might be a better option than Warner Brothers trying to recast the Caped Crusader altogether. We’re sure this won’t be the last rumor like this that we hear, so we’ll keep you updated.
