Apple's new iPad Mini, as you've learned from our overview and the reviews that began pouring in yesterday, is essentially, as its name implies, a mini iPad 2. But just how did Apple manage to squeeze the innards of its 9.7-inch tablet into a 7.9-inch device that's also thinner? While you were handing out Halloween candy or getting twisted at a party, the folks at iFixit used a heat gun, Philips screwdriver, tweezers, and their new iOpener tool to tear apart the iPad Mini. What'd they find? If you break the glass over the display, you're in luck because it can be repaired independently. And it's as hard to take apart as the bigger iPad.

Head to iFixit to see the full teardown.
