As basic cable networks struggle to find memorable comedies to put on the air, HBO has done a solid job of bringing the laughs over the last few years with shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Veep, and, most recently, Girls. And after a few barren months on the network, Girls will make its return on January 13 with its second season.
