A gas explosion destroyed a strip club in Springfield, MA, leaving 18 people injured. Forty-two other buildings were damaged as well. Thankfully, no one was killed. The explosion, which took place at Score's Gentleman's Club, blew out all the windows in a three-block radius, severely damaging several buildings and forcing residents to evacuate a six-story apartment building that was about to give way.

Firefighters and gas workers were on the scene by 4:20 p.m. to address a gas leak, and the explosion happened about an hour later. Just before the explosion, they were able to seek cover behind a utility truck, which was destroyed. The state's Department of Public Utilities will conduct an investigation of the blast, and Columbia Gas of Massachusetts will check for potential leaks in the immediate area of the blast site.
