According to Worst Previews, Frank Grillo (The Grey) is now confirmed to play the villainous Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Word of this came just a few days after we reported that the actor was in the running to get the role. But now, during an interview on the Matthew Aaron Show, Grillo said that he would also be appearing in Avengers 2 and possibly Captain America 3 as Crossbones as well.
In the comics, the “Winter Soldier” storyline involved Crossbones heavily after he temporarily assassinated Steve Rogers after the events of Civil War. So it is possible that all three movies will connect to retell that story, or it could be something completely original. We’ll know for sure when Captain America: The Winter Soldier comes out on April 4, 2014.
