A 16-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the face with a .38 special at the Dickinson Memorial Library in Orange City, FL. The teen brought the gun to the library (never a good idea) and was showing it off to friends when it accidentally discharged, striking him in the eye.
The Volusia County public library system's code of conduct bans all weapons from being brought into libraries, except if they're in the possession of a law enforcement officer. The boy is recovering at Halifax Health Medical Center, where he's said to be in critical but stable condition.
