Square Enix shut down the servers for Final Fantasy XIV over the weekend, marking the "end of an era," according to the lengthy adieu above.
Said adieu also serves as a trailer for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the reboot to the rather poorly received MMO. Square Enix has reportedly promised to fix what ails it on both PS3 and PC by 2013.
