Facebook is about to make getting into political arguments with casual associates a lot easier. The site has begun testing a new threaded comment system that allows users to reply directly to comments on a post, rather than forcing them to make an additional comment on the post itself.
Threaded comments are already a part of Facebook's comments platform that is used on some third party websites. Bringing the system to Facebook proper could have the effect of making comment ecosystems within Facebook more like they are elsewhere on the web... for better and for worse.
