Warface is the latest modern shooter from Crytek, the creators of Crysis and Far Cry, but its success isn't as assured as you might think. It's actually something of an experiment—it looks like a triple-A shooter, sure, and Crytek has assured us over and over that that's what it is—but how can it be, when it's free-to-play?
The F2P business model has so far mostly been utilized by crappy casual games on phones and social networks. But a few efforts have been made to change that, and it seems to be working. Can Warface continue that trend?
