Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke has thyroid cancer. The 41-year-old informed fans of the news via a video blog post yesterday (Nov. 8).

In the video, she says she'll be having surgery to remove a cancerous nodule on her thyroid gland and that before being diagnosed, she'd put off having her thyroid checked for eight months.

"I'm going to be a good patient and do everything I'm supposed to do," she says. "Now I'm good and I'm ready to deal with it and I'm going to be fine. I feel really, really strong. Doctors say that this is a 'good kind of cancer to have.' That sounds so crazy. But my doctor did tell me that this is a happily ever after ending kind of thing."

According to Burke, she has to get a thyroidectomy.

"I am going to have a nice big scar, right here, across my neck," she says, pointing to her neck. "I don't get to just walk around and pretend like nothing happened or not follow up or not share, because it's going to be pretty much dead center."

She then told fans to not worry too much about her.

"I didn't want anyone to read about it and get the wrong idea or think that I'm sick," she says. "Because I'm not... I feel really good. I've never felt better. That's what's so crazy about this whole thing."
