According to EW, Coldplay drummer Will Champion will make an appearance during the next season of Game of Thrones on HBO. Who will he be playing? You guessed it: a drummer. There is no word on how big the role will be, but it’s being described as a cameo, so eagle-eyed fans will likely have to curb their blinking habits in order to catch him.
In addition to Champion, Snow Patrol lead singer Gary Lightbody will also appear in the upcoming season of the show in another unidentified cameo. We’re just hoping this doesn’t lead to an alternative rock invasion of Game of Thrones, because we would really hate to see an army led by Dashboard Confessional battling against the Neon Trees in the coming seasons.
