A cameraman for KPIX-TV in Oakland, CA, has returned to work after a group of young men punched him, then stole his camera during a newscast. Gregg Welk and reporter Anne Mackovec were finishing a story outside of Oakland Technical High School when Welk was allegedly approached by the group, who assaulted him and then fled with the camera.

Welk was able to seek medical treatment on his own, and was back at work the following day.
