Apple has announced opening weekend sales for its new iPads and, as expected, they're strong. Cupertino sold three million iPads over the last three days, twice as many as they sold during the opening weekend of the iPad 3 this March.
This time, of course, Apple was selling not one, but two iPads. And no, they're not telling whether the iPad Mini or the new full-sized iPad is selling more and by how much. Given the Mini's lower price and higher profile in the press and advertisements, however, we'd bet that it has a bit of an edge.
Does that mean it's cannibalizing sales of the larger iPad, as tech pundits love to speculate? Probably, but this is the kind of cannibalization that Apple wants.
