If you've been looking to get the new iPhone, but don't want to be on contract for two years (or are a T-Mobile customer), your time has come. Apple has begun selling the iPhone 5 unlocked and off contract on its own website.

For now only the GSM version of the iPhone 5 is available unlocked, which means the phone will work on either AT&T or T-Mobile's network, but not Verizon or Sprint's.

Unsubsidized pricing starts at $649 for the 16 GB version and goes all the way up to $849 for the 64 GB version. Customers can choose to either have their phone shipped to them (current ship time is about 1 week) or pick it up in stores.
