With movie biopics being the current craze in Hollywood, it should come as no surprise that a new film based on the life of Marilyn Monroe is going into production. But this one should actually catch your attention because it is being directed by Andrew Dominik, who has done tremendous work on movies like Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and the upcoming Killing Them Softly.

Based on the book Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates, this biopic will span Monroe’s entire life – beginning with her as a child and ending with her death, according to an interview the director did with The Playlist. He elaborated on the project by saying, “It's sort of a Polanski descent-into-madness-type movie. It's about this orphan girl who gets lost in the woods.”

Naomi Watts is attached to star as Monroe at the moment, which Dominik will likely shoot next year.
