Nate Silver, whose political stats blog for The New York TimesFive Thirty Eight, correctly predicted the outcome in all 50 states on election night, stopped by Jon Stewart on Wednesday. Silver had become a lightning rod in the weeks running up to the election as the growing popularity and influence of his statistical forecasting angered pundits on cable news and newspaper editorial boards who insisted that elections are inherently unpredictable. Of course, those people turned out to be wrong, and now Silver is regarded as a math hero and has become a bona fide Twitter phenomenon.
