Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Will Host the Golden Globes in 2013

This is going to be good.

Because someone working for the Golden Globes is a smart person, real-life best friends Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be hosting the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony in Los Angeles this coming January. The two will replace the controversial Ricky Gervais, who hosted the show in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the move to name both Fey and Poehler as hosts is a big achievement for both the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who awards the Golden Globes, and Dick Clark Productions, who produces the show for NBC every year.

"Having both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on board to host this year’s festivities is a major coup,” Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late-night programming for NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. "Tina and Amy have a proven chemistry and comedic timing from their many years together on SNL to their successful co-starring roles in Baby Mama."
