Sony had plans to update the PlayStation Network Store on Tuesday, as we divulged earlier this week. But as we all know, "the best-laid plans of video game publishers and men often go awry." Or something. In other words, that update isn't coming this week, and Sony hasn't yet revealed when we can expect it.

Sony's VP of Network Entertainment Eric Lempel (who gives a video tour of the update above) writes on the PlayStation Blog, "Although the new PS Store is operating smoothly in most countries, there have been some issues that caused inconvenience for users. While we’ve already solved many of these issues, we’ve decided to postpone the October 23rd launch of the new store in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil."

We thought we should let you know, just in case you're the kind of person who gets really excited about updates to digital store fronts. We didn't want you to be too disappointed come Tuesday when the update didn't drop.

So now we'll be eagerly awaiting word of both the PS Store update and the digital PS Vita release of Jet Set Radio, which was also delayed this week. Get on it, Sony!
