In 1977, director Roman Polanski (Chinatown, Rosemary's Baby) pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor after he was charged with having sex with then-13-year-old Samantha Geimer during a photo shoot at Jack Nicholson's LA home. It was revealed that Polanski had given Geimer champagne and half a Quaalude before raping her. But to avoid prison, Polanski fled from the U.S. to France in 1978 and never came back. He now moves freely between France and Switzerland, but a warrant for his arrest remains in 188 countries.

Now Geimer, 47, is writing her tell-all memoir titled The Girl: Emerging from the Shadow of Roman Polanski for Atria Books, according to the Associated Press. The book will provide "insight into many dimensions of the story.” The publisher has revealed that the book will hit stores next fall.
