Because adaptations of classics for network television are all the rage now, Deadline is reporting that TheCW has picked up a modern-day reimagining of the Charlies Dickens classic, Great Expectations.

The series, tentatively titled Expectations, is set to be executive produced by Reese Witherspoon, and centers on a "small town girl with big dreams of making it in the city who is quickly disillusioned by the harsh reality of living in San Francisco, until her fortunes unexpectedly turn thanks to an anonymous benefactor." Pride screenwriter, J. Mills Goodloe, will pen the script.
