"Skyfall" Opens Huge Internationally

Expect plenty more Bond in the very near future.

It hasn’t opened here in the States yet, but Skyfall has already raked in a massive haul overseas with a $77.7 million total over the weekend in 25 markets, according to Coming Soon. This includes a $32.4 million take in the U.K. alone, which is the second-highest grossing opening weekend ever, just behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.

So far Skyfall has garnered stellar reviews from critics worldwide, and Columbia Pictures and MGM have already hired the movie’s writer, John Logan, to pen the next two Bond movies. If these numbers follow traditional patterns, you can expect a huge U.S. opening for Skyfall when it hits theaters here on November 9.
