Microsoft and 343 Industries, in conjunction with 7Hz Productions, have launched the Halo 4 Soundtrack Remix Contest to give fans a chance to put their own spin on some of Halo 4's most epic tracks.

The Halo 4 soundtrack was composed by Massive Attack's Neil Davidge, whom we spoke with about the project back in April. Fans who sign up will gain access to the stems for the tracks "Awakening," "To Galaxy," and "Nemesis" (click to listen to the songs on Soundcloud).

The remix contest runs through Oct. 29, and interested parties can head to halo4remix.com for more info. The entries will be judged by Davidge himself, plus Halo 4 Audio Director Sotaro Tojima and electronic musicians Sander Van Doorn and CASPA.

Prizes will vary by region, but will range from the complete collection of official Halo soundtracks and the Halo 4 limited edition Xbox 360 320GB console to a Samsung Series 7 laptop. In other words, they're pretty insane.

And don't forget about the limited edition of the official Halo 4 soundtrack itself, which is now launching Nov. 6 with an awesome 14-track remix album, a making-of film, a hardcover "Making of Halo 4 Music" book, a Davidge-signed art print, a vinyl record imprinted with an image of the Master Chief and Cortana, and an Avatar t-shirt download. Phew.

So will you be submitting your own version of Halo 4's tracks?
