Marvel may be dominating live-action movies at the box office, but the company can’t come close to touching Warner Brothers’ genius when it comes to animated movies set in the DC Universe. But the House of Ideas is looking to change that asEntertainment Weekly has unveiled the upcoming animated film from Marvel titled Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United.

Like the title suggests, the movie will feature the Hulk and Iron Man teaming up to take down one of the Green Goliath’s most famous villains: Zzzax. This is a creature made out of pure energy that can absorb human minds. Though it’s not exactly a sequel to this summer’s Avengers, Jeph Loeb, the executive VP of Marvel’s TV division, told the site, “We welcome people to interpret any way they like. In tone and character, we want to follow our best leader.”

Unfortunately the film doesn’t feature the voices of Robert Downey Jr. or Mark Ruffalo, but Adrian Pasdar (Heroes) will play Iron Man while Fred Tatasciore (who is a Hulk voice veteran) will play Bruce Banner and the Hulk. The article also promises that the Hulk will be more articulate this time around. Check out some images from the film below:

Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on April 23, 2013.
