Of all the things Mitt Romney said during last night's nail-biter of a presidential debate, his comments about PBS perhaps stood out the most. If you're not aware, Romney said something to the effect of, "I’m sorry, Jim, I’m going to stop the subsidy to PBS. I’m going to stop other things. I like PBS, I love Big Bird, I actually like you, too. But I’m not going to keep on spending money on things to borrow money from China to pay for." Gotta say, he's got balls to say that right to PBS's NewsHour host, Jim Lehrer's face.
Anyway, lots of people were pretty outraged by Romney's comments. Big Bird, for instance - and apparently former PBS Reading Rainbow host, LeVar Burton. In a statement/rant to TMZ, Burton went off on Romney, more or less accusing him of destroying the country's children:

Burton also added that PBS only "represents .00016% of our nation's budget," nearly echoing what astrophysicist and frequent Daily Show guest, Neil deGrasse Tyson tweeted on the subject last night.
"On behalf of America's children, I can't stay silent," Burton continued. "I encourage you to join me in fighting this short-sighted and frankly mean-spirited attack on our children."
