Joanne Trattoria, the Upper West Side Italian restaurant owned by Lady Gaga and her family, is having a tough few weeks. Right on the heels of being critically panned by the New York Daily News (reviewer Michael Kaminer called the eatery "worse than herpes") the fine dining establishment was slammed by New York City's Department of Health.
The inspection yielded six major violations, and a total of 42 violations points for unsanitary conditions, resulting in a "C" grade. While we're of the belief that these grades hold little meaning (restaurants can easily win good grades by a variety of shady methods and the grading system is seriously flawed), many New Yorkers base their dining decisions on the letter hanging in a restaurant's window. So, it wouldn't hurt to clean your act up, Gaga and co.!
