When over five million iPhone 5s were sold during weekend of its release, Apple wasn't the only company to benefit.

According to a report from the U.S. Federal Reserve's Beige Book, a quarterly collection of economic observations, massive launches like the one Apple had with the iPhone 5 was a great help to the air cargo industry during the last quarter.

“Air cargo companies saw an increase in cargo volume tied to the launch of various smartphones and computer tablets, which favor shipment by air over other modalities," reported the Fed.

We're sure other huge launches, like the Samsung Galaxy S III which sold 10 million units in a month, had similar effects on the air cargo industry. The iPhone 5 launched in nine countries, is now available in 22, and will be available in over 100 by the end of the year.

That's a lot of cargo to ship.
