Jonatan Söderström gets it. After finding out that his recent breakout hit, Hotline Miamiwas being pirated he reacted with a sort of measured cool that is rarely seen in the gaming world.

He has decided to help pirates get a hold of his game more easily. Granted, he wants people to shell out the $10 for the game that he's worked so hard on, but if you're going to pirate the game, he wants you to at least enjoy a bug-free copy.

“I know what it’s like not having money,” said Söderström. “I definitely want people to experience the game the way it’s meant to be experienced. No matter how they got a hold of it.”

He went on to announce that a small patch will be made via The Pirate Bay to update the game, and that even if you didn't pay for the game, you should torrent the patch and play a decent version of the game.

Pirating an indie developer is kind of a shit move. I hope that by embracing the pirates Söderström will attract some legitimate consumers his way. Using piracy as a means to further your own title seems like a no-brianer to us. What do you guys think? Let us know on Twitter.
