This news isn't exactly surprising, but still, nice to hear: According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO has opted to renew their Steve Buscemi-starring series, Boardwalk Empire, for a fourth season, after impressive ratings and a gross of about 7.2 million viewers for the season three premiere this past September.
"Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese and the rest of their outstanding team continue to produce a stunning show that never fails to surprise and entertain," HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said in a statement about the renewal. "We are excited to bring this unique series back for a fourth season."
Season four will premiere on the network in 2013, and season three is currently airing.
