A 41-year-old woman in Glen Rock, PA was arrested for drunkenly attempting to save a pack of wild ducks during Hurricane Sandy. Justina Laniewski reportedly ran into the Codorus Creek on Monday morning, and her 4-year-old son started to follow her. Neighbors were able to grab the boy, but it took eight firefighters to rescue Laniewski, who was up to her neck in water.

Laniewski was charged with risking a catastrophe, reckless endangerment, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. According to court records, she told police that she slipped and fell into the water. A breath test revealed that her blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit for driving.
