It's been a rough year for Demi Moore, but if recent appearances are anything to go by, she's getting it together.

The 49-year-old movie queen popped up last night (Oct. 17) at the GEMS Girls Like Us Benefit Gala at El Museo del Barrio, in East Harlem.

She looked pretty refreshed and energized as she took the stage to read an excerpt from Girls Like Us, a memoir by GEMS' Executive Director Rachel Lloyd.

Then Moore sat in the audience as young women shared stories of escaping the sex trade industry to go on to lead healthy and productive lives. She gave them hugs as they each left the stage.

Moore knows a thing or two about being wronged by a man. Glad to see she's doing better post-rehab.
