Despite having a rocky tenure as the showrunner and creator of Community on NBC, Dan Harmon is still very much in demand in show biz, and according to Deadline, his latest show, Rick and Morty, just got picked up as a series on Adult Swim. The show’s pilot was originally picked up by the network in May, and now it will become a full-fledged series starting in 2014.

Harmon created the show along with Justin Roiland, and it focuses on, “a genius inventor grandfather and his less-than-genius grandson, and the journeys in life they share.” The site is also reporting that Harmon has two live-action projects in development at CBS and Fox. So as NBC struggles to find quality comedies to air, Harmon is on his way to becoming one of Hollywood’s hottest talents. We love this brand of poetic justice.
