Unfortunately, looting has become part of Hurricane Sandy's aftermath. Some criminals in Williamsburg have stooped to the lowest of lows, reportedly posing as Con-Edison workers to trick victims into letting them inside of their homes before robbing them blind. That's so fucked up, especially considering the circumstances.
It began yesterday when Twitter user @HQSatmar warned residents in the Brooklyn neighborhood not to let any workers into their homes unless they presented proper identification. Con-Edison asked residents to call 1-800-75CONED if concerned. Police say they are prepared to arrest impostors on sight.
Hurricane Sandy may be over, but it's still far from safe in the affected areas.
