Let's just call it the Adele affect. Because ever since she rose to prominence without having to starve herself, formerly trim singers have been letting their weight go unchecked and aren't being bashful about it.

And while Lady Gaga's the one getting the headlines for her expanded waistline these days, Christina Aguilera started packing on the pounds over a year ago.

Xtina's releasing a new record, Lotus, on November 13, and this time around she's not even wasting effort trying to fit into some major record label's view of what a pop star should be.

"I told them during this Lotus recording, 'You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it,'" she says. "They need a reminder sometimes that I don't belong to them. It's my body. My body can't put anyone in jeopardy of not making money anymore-my body is just not on the table that way anymore."
