Canadian mother Johra Kaleki has admitted to stabbing her daughter multiple times with a kitchen knife because the girl came home too late on several occasions. Bahar Ebrahimi was 19 when she started rebelling against her Muslim upbringing by staying past her curfew. Her father was lecturing her one night in June 2010 when her mother asked him to leave the two alone. Kaleki revealed a large knife that she had hidden under her shirt and then attacked her daughter.

Ebrahimi survived, and Kaleki told police that the blade was not sharp enough to give her daughter "the peace she needed." She also told police she was simply trying to give her daughter "wisdom," adding: “I stab her, stab her neck. She said, ‘No Mom!’ I said, ‘It’s for your good. Let me finish.’” Her conscience eventually caught up with her hand, as she broke down during an interrogation saying "I will be punished in this world and I will be punished on the day of judgment.”

Kaleiki has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and illegal use of a weapon. Her lawyer is trying to have her previous statements declared inadmissible. Good luck with that.
