Car and Building Struck By Flying Tire in Philadelphia

How the hell did this happen?

None

In today's first true "what the fuck?" moment, a tire believed to have fallen from an airplane hit a car near the University Avenue exit of the Schuylkill Expressway, and then crashed into a building at 1901 Vare Avenue near the expressway, leaving a hole in the roof.

Fire Radio originally reported that the landing gear fell from a plane flying overhead. It's now being reported that the tire flew off of another car that was involved in an accident. Somehow, the impact of the accident sent the tire flying into the air. This is the absolute last thing morning commuters want to see and hear about on a Monday.
