If you've ever wanted to see a reality show featuring D-list celebrities embarrassing themselves and competing against one another in a diving competition, it's your lucky day, because according to Deadline, that is exactly the premise of the new series that ABC has ordered. Celebrity Splash, based on the Dutch series Sterren Springen, will feature celebs performing dives from "dizzying heights," including "backflips, somersaults and other gymnastic feats." As per the format of the series, each celeb has a week of preparation with a diving instructor before the main competition, and challenges will increase in difficulty each week. Who says TV execs are running out of reality show ideas?
