From cooking meth to racing cars. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul has been cast as the lead in DreamWorks' upcoming action film Need for Speed, based on the Electronic Arts video game series of the same name.

"In Need for Speed, the cars are hot, the racing is intense and the story keeps players at the edge of their seat," a press release about the project reads. The film will apparently be "rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the '70s" while "being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise." AKA, that chick who sued the producers of Drive because there weren't enough car chases can rest easy - there will likely be a lot of that in this film.

Act of Valor director Scott Waugh is in talks to direct. The release date for the film has been tentatively set as February 7, 2014.
