The iPhone giveth and it taketh away. A prime example of such a case is Emmanuel Jerome. The 23-year-old used his Apple device as a flashlight instead of turning on the lights of the home he was burglarizing. Smart thinking, right? But there was one problem. He must've pushed another button while accessing the flashlight feature because he accidentally recorded the whole ordeal on his phone. Whoops.

When the video was discovered, Judge John Potter told him, "Significantly, in my view, camera footage of the invasion of that property was captured on your mobile phone" and sentenced him to 44 weeks in jail. Maybe a good old-fashioned flashlight would've been suffice, huh?
