A 32-year-old woman was shot to death by a Border Patrol agent that clung to the hood of her vehicle on Friday afternoon.  The agent was in Chula Vista, CA to serve someone with a felony warrant when he was struck by Alvarado. According to authorities, Valeria Alvarado hit the man with her car and continued to drive as he hung from the hood. Alvarado reportedly carried the plainclothes officer several hundred yards before he opened fire through the vehicle's windshield.

Alvarado had five children between the ages 3 of and 17. Witnesses offered different accounts of what unfolded, with some saying that they never saw the agent on the hood of the car. Alvarado was pronounced dead at the scene.
