Valve's Steam Hardware Will Enter Public Beta in 2013

Whatever that hardware is.

None

It took a while, but Valve has finally owned up to the fact that it's working on some sort of "Steam Box" hardware solution for gaming in the living room. And that's just the Valve hardware that we know about.

Now Valve's Jeri Ellsworth has told Engadget that public beta testing of Steam hardware could begin next year, saying that the goal of Valve's hardware efforts is "to make Steam games more fun to play in your living room." She confirmed that prototypes are already in testing at Valve.

Valve's efforts to take over living rooms (a goal seemingly shared by many tech companies these days) began in earnest with the release of Steam Big Picture earlier this month.

What form do you think Valve's hardware should take?
