If you go to your Twitter profile settings today, you'll notice you have a new option for designing your page. The company has introduced the ability to add header photos, which will offset your profile picture and occupy the large block of space at the top of your profile page.

Header photos, of course, were a big part of the redesigned Timeline profiles Facebook introduced last year, and the new Twitter profiles do look more like profiles on Facebook. The social network landscape keeps getting more uniform.

The iOS and Android versions of the app now also support header photos and have also received a couple of other design tweaks. Recent photos now appear on profile pages below the most recent tweets.

Add a header photo to your Twitter profile by clicking here.
