If you've ever found yourself wishing there was a comedy TV series based on the critically claimed Hugh Grant-starring 2002 film About a Boy - which in itself is based on the Nick Hornby novel of the same name - you're in luck, because Parenthood executive producer Jason Katims has heard your pleas. According to Deadline, Katims is developing a single-camera comedy series based on the film and book, and it's just been bought by NBC. The series will reportedly focus on the "relationship between a bachelor man-child and the young boy who moves in next door with his kooky single mother."
This is apparently the second attempt at developing a show based on the About a Boy concept - in 2003, Fox ordered a presentation of a series starring Patrick Dempsey that was based on the film.
