Hold on one second while we make tax law pertinent to your life: The New York Court of Appeals is hearing arguments today about whether a strip club in the Albany area should be tax exempt on the grounds that lap dances are "live dramatic or musical art performances."

In other words, if the court rules that lap dances are art, this strip club will become tax exempt. If it rules that lap dances are not art, then the club must pay $124K in back taxes. Of course, this ruling will affect strip clubs nationwide.

The club has hired an anthropologist to testify on behalf of the artistic integrity of the dancers, but perhaps they should just bring in some of the dancers at Perfection, in New York. Have the members of this court heard of twerking? Have they witnessed it?

More on this as it unfolds.
