Skyfall will be the 23rd James Bond movie, but, hey, who's keeping count? Besides, for our money, there's never been a cooler, more watchable 007 than Mr. Daniel Craig, so getting another chance to see him in cutie-pulling, face-punching action is a good thing. As is the the casting of Javier Bardem as the latest Bond villain and Naomie Harris (28 Days Later) as one of two new additions to the ever-growing, always sexy roster of Bond girls (the other being French stunner Bérénice Marlohe).

What's most exciting, though, at least to us, is the man seated behind the camera: Sam Mendes, the director of such understated and devastating character pieces as American Beauty and Revolutionary Road. He's not the most obvious choice to helm a James Bond adventure, but, if the Skyfall trailer is any fair indication, Mendes will fit right into the legendary world occupied by treacherous enemies, disrobed beauties, and a humorless Daniel Craig.
