Tomara Bryan, a correction officer at Rikers Island, says that sex among guards and supervisors is "rampant" at the jail. She admitted to having a two-year affair with married warden Emmanuel Bailey, but says she was the only C.O. to experience harassment from co-workers. What's worse, although numerous workers sleep together, it's only the female employees that experience discrimination because female supervisors reportedly believe their subordinates are the ones who initiate the trysts.

On Monday, Bryan filed a civil suit with the Bronx Supreme Court, claiming that she was verbally and physically abused by female bosses when they learned of her affair. Keep in mind that Bailey's wife also worked at the prison. Bryan alleges that she was forced to take "bogus" drug tests and perform "dangerous" tasks. In addition, the suit claims Bailey was never punished once the affair was revealed.

This comes seven months after Bailey was arrested for assault and charges. Bryan, who has "Emmanuel" tattooed on her lower back, says Bailey punched her in the face, kicked her in the stomach, and put a hole in the wall of her Brooklyn apartment. Bailey, who pleaded guilty to the charges and was granted a conditional discharge, says he was separated from his wife during the affair with Bryan.

No wonder life at Rikers is so sordid—the administration can't even get right.
