Panic Erupts After Flight Attendant Brings Gun Through Airport Security

Things got explosive.

Republic Airlines flight attendant Jaclyn Luby was going through security at Philadelphia International Airport when TSA found a handgun in her purse. TSA removed the .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver, and the weapon discharged as a police officer tried to put the safety on. Thankfully, no one was injured.

Luby told police she had a permit to carry the weapon, but forgot that it was inside of her bag. She was released after receiving a summary citation. The officer who fired the gun was put on desk duty while an investigation is conducted.
