With the launch of the Wii-U slated for November, Nintendo has announced that their newest console will be region locked.

This move doesn't come as a complete surprise to fans, as both the 3DS and the Wii were region locked. Certain import title weren't able to make the jump across either the Atlantic or the Pacific for Nintendo. It's kind of a bummer, but the locked territories shouldn't affect North American markets too much.

After the massive Wii-U roll out last week, retailers have been shocked by the demand for the console. Gamestop has already begun forming wait lists for the the next round of pre-orders. What do you think? Going to get your hands on the new system? Let us know on Twitter.
